As I predicted, it was an EPIC FAIL for me and my team on Saturday.

Here’s the results from my match at GrapplersQuest on Saturday:

1. if I win or lose: LOSE

2. how long the match lasts: 48 seconds

3. winning method of submission: Loss by Rear-Naked Choke

4. total points scored in match by BOTH competitors: 0 (zero)

5. worst type of injury that I will sustain: sprained neck, eye-poke and fingernail cuts under left eye

And the winner is...

"POLISH"!

"Polish" picked a loss (good move), came closest to the time (3:12) and was closest in points (2 points for original takedown). Congrats! Email Ben and he'll hook you up with a shirt, ya lucky bastard!

I don't feel that bad because all 4 of the guys on my team and my coach all lost their matches. One of my friends told me "If you lose three, that's a hat-trick. Lose 5, that's a Golden Sombrero!" He then told me that he actually had a sombrero in his basement and offered to spray paint it gold for me.

I haven't taken him up on that yet...

Hope ya had fun with the contest and watching an old guy get beat up by a 20-something collegiate wrestler who learned how to do a RNC.

6 months of training, cutting 30 pounds, $70 sign-up fee...all for 48 seconds of humiliation.

Thank God my kid hasn't seen this. She'd never want to speak to me again.
