Not the super awesome mega card it could have been if JZ hadn't pulled out, Shibata had been inserted into the Super Hulk tourney instead of Sapp, and Kawajiri and Barracuda had different opponents... but, it should be a very solid night's entertainment nontheless.
Tokoro-Takaya should be a cracker. Bibiano/Warren is a really solid matchup between two seriously tough ass dudes, and we will also be able to see how Warren stands up to Bibiano's jits.
I sincerely hope that Tokoro shocks the shit out of everyone and wins the whole freaking tournament. He deserves it. Consistent FOTN and FOTY candidates every time he goes out, and he has a tremendous heart that you can't help but love. If you haven't seen it, watch Cullum-Tokoro, one of the best fights of the year.
Plus, if the porn loving janitor wins it all, that means that we get to see him fight TWICE in the same night, which is a very good thing indeed, gentlemen.
ALSO it means that FW champions in both Japanese major leagues have come from ZST~!! ZST is BST
Miyata-Taiki should be a great fight that I think many people are sleeping on. DJ hasn't even lost in the tourney, but is relegated to reserve fight after an injury. He has some nice striking, but Miyata will be looking to german suplex his ass all over the ring. Might be a dark horse contender for FOTN.
AND there is the LW title fight between Aoki and Hansen. I'm conflicted here, I like both guys. Hopefully Aoki doesn't come and and want to showcase his goddamn kickboxing like he did against Shaolin, or else Hansen is going to slice through him. I'm just going to hope that Aoki win this so that we get Aoki-Kawajiri on NYE.
And then there's the super hulk tourney... what more can I say, apart from WAR MINOWAMAN
BUT DANGER
Does HMC look less depressed to you?
Quote:
* "My weight went down at one point, but right now I am 153kg. My stamina is better and my conditioning is really good."
* "Minowaman is a weak fighter. That's what I think after watching his previous fights. And his leg locks? No problem at all."
* "I've been sparring with a guy who's about the same size as Minowaman. He pushes me good. It's impossible for Minowaman to get a takedown on me. The fight will be over before there's even an chance to go the ground. I think it will be over in about a minute."
On Minowaman training at a sumo stable with yokozunas:
* "When I heard that report, I couldn't stop laughing the entire day! To picture him doing that is hilarious (laughter). It's not like you can pick up sumo techniques in a day either."
* "Is he saying that he wants to become a superman? Please don't make me laugh any more. Of course that's impossible."

From depressed HMC to... cynical HMC?
My original prediction was that Minowaman will roll across the ring, wrap himself around a leg and crank. But the pain signals will take too long to reach HMC's brain. Then HMC gets depressed because no one understands his feelings and he will fall over, crushing Minowaman instantly.
BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT CYNICAL HMC IS CAPABLE OF?
WATCH OUT MINOWAMAN!!
